Where were you born?

Veyron Supercharge challenged the bloggers of SL to photograph their birthplace and write about it. After reading her and Timothy's blog, I couldn't resist going back to my birthplace in SL and take some pics.

I entered the mainland in februari 2007 at Hanja Welcome Area, Gukyeol. I remember being confused by the crowd and the chatlines filling my screen. At first I sat there in silence (I'm shy, remember?), but it didn't take long before others started talking to me in chat or IM. I've stayed in the court for a day or two.

When I revisited it yesterday, it was less crowded. But what struck me most, was the absence of newbies! I've been there for about 30 minutes, clicking profiles and most of the avies were at least 3 months old, and many even older. There was even a pair of dragons trying to draw the attention of visitors.

At Hanja, I met my first real friend (he's still on my list :)). Like me, he didn't like the rush at the Welcome area, and together we walked up the hill, to find a more quiet spot and see what was behind.

Unlike now, it was quite empty there 8 months ago. We walked into the basements of what was going to be the NCI center at Hamnida. The first time we arrrived, there was only a wall filled with boxes of freebies: enough though to keep us busy for a while :)

When we came back a day later, to chat and unpack our freebies, there suddenly was a swimmingpool! We spent about a week together there, laying in the pool, chatting and trying out our freebie clothes (of course not IN the pool ;-)), seeing how the place evolved day by day.

After Hamnida, my life became more complex and, like everyone, I started visiting a lot of new places: the Shelter, Allen's Seaside Bluesclub, The Yard, Butterfly Island and Waterworks are some of my first places. (Which reminds me that I have to blog about Allen's some day...) And many - much more interesting- places would follow. I still love to explore our wonderful digital world :)

Now you know where I was born *wonders if she could call herself mature by now?* and I wonder: where were you born, and were did your first steps take you? I'd love to read it in the comments or your own blog!

I was born around februari 2007 as a woman.
I also experienced the crowd at hantu , however i moved on in sl quite fast . As a chicken without a head (i don't know the english saying) i started to explore the sexual side of side SL ,sometimes as a woman ,sometimes as a man . And it got pretty extreme in some cases . I really thought it was a game untill i found out a lesbian woman was in love with me .(being a woman was emotionally very easy , i didn't feel related at all)
Thats when i decided to quit immediately and i never told the woman what happened and who i really was . In sl you just need to be very carefull with feelings. With my second secondlife account
as a man / as me i found out exactly what that woman must have felt like. :-(
What comes around goes around and i have become a wiser man .

Good old times! Back then, you weren't even ABLE to change your clothes while floating in the pool, cause at that time changing clothes while sitting immediately made you jump up ;)

@leroy: thanks for your honest comment :-)

@Timothy: I'd completely forgotten that one couldn't change on a poseball in those days! I'm glad we can now, as I'm regularly changing my outfit while dancing ;-)
